What is SEEP?

Sarawak Education Enhancement Programme (SEEP)

Introduction

The Sarawak Education Enhancement Programme (SEEP) aims to improve student academic performance, address educational disparities between urban and rural schools, and provide targeted support for educators and school leaders. By focusing on enhancing teaching and learning outcomes, fostering a holistic educational experience, and utilizing data-driven strategies, SEEP aspires to achieve sustainable progress in the education sector. The key stakeholders include the Ministry of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development (MEITD), Sarawak State Education Department (JPNS), and Yayasan Sarawak (YS).

Goals and Objectives

1.1 Goals
To improve the quality of Sarawak’s SPM results by achieving:

1.1.1 An average grade of 4.92 (2023/2024)

1.1.2 An average grade of 4.75 (2024/2025)

1.1.3 An average grade of 4.65 (2025/2026)

1.2 Objectives

1.2.1 To enhance Sarawak’s SPM performance over the next five years

1.2.2 To increase enrolment in pure science classes

1.2.3 To ensure a sufficient pool of quality students for higher education in Sarawak, in alignment with the State Government’s Free Tertiary Education 2026 initiative

1.3 Outcomes

1.3.1 Improved SPM State Average Grade (GPN) from 5.06 (2022) to 4.65 (2026)

1.3.2 Increased enrolment in pure science classes

1.3.3 Higher percentage of qualified SPM graduates for enrolment in state higher education institutions
